Proudly supporting grassroots sport in WA

  • About Macca's Junior Sports Grants Program

    Active lives are happier and healthier lives. That’s the thinking behind the Macca's
    Junior Sports Grants program.

    Macca's Junior Sports Grants aims to increase participation in junior sports and
    encourage the habit of a healthy lifestyle amongst young West Australians living in our
    regional communities where access to funding is harder to come by.

    We provide grants to clubs or groups within regional Western Australia to provide basic
    sporting infrastructure for a club or sporting group for an activity which is likely
    to encourage kids to participate in sport.

    So, if your club or group is in regional Western Australia and requires equipment, uniforms
    or something else that encourages participation in sport, we are happy to help.

  • When are applications open?

    There are four rounds per year in which you can apply for a grant:

    1.    Round One – 9.00am (AWST) 1st January to 11.59pm (AWST) 31st March
    2.    Round Two – 9.00am (AWST) 1st April to 11.59pm (AWST) 30th June

    4.    Round Four – 9.00am (AWST) 1st October to 11.59pm (AWST) 31st December

    My club/school has received a grant before. May we apply again?

    Yes, you may apply again,  but each application must be submitted separately in compliance with our Terms & Conditions. Multiple entries must be substantially unique, for example not use the same 200 Word description. We cannot guarantee that you will be successful again.

    My club/school is outside of regional WA. May we apply?

    Macca's Junior Sports Grants is currently only open to regional clubs within WA. Please contact McDonald's Customer Service on 02 9875 7100 to find out more about opportunities within your local area/state.

    What items can my club request a grant for?

    Only items that are seen to directly encourage greater participation in your club’s sport will be considered for funding. Applications, regardless of whether they have been submitted by an Eligible Applicant, that seek any of the following shall not be a valid application and will be disqualified:

    a. Retrospective costs or deficit funding requests;

    b. Projects outside the designated geographical zone of Western Australia;

    c. General fundraising appeals;

    d. Travel to and from sporting competitions or related events within or outside of Western Australia;

    e. Technological devices (e.g. mobile devices);

    f. Funding for coaching or umpiring related activities;

    g. Hire and Membership Fees;

    h. Clubhouses and Clubhouse amenities;

    i. Non-sporting equipment (e.g. gazebos, first aid kits and drink bottles).

    How much can my club apply for?

    When drafting your application, please consider that the total funds available for each round amounts to $40,000 split equally between regional and metro applicants. To be considered for a grant, an itemised quote(s) must be submitted with your application in order to verify the cost of items requested.

    I’ve applied, what happens next?

    All applications will be reviewed by the MJSG Committee in the month after the close of the active round. We will then contact you via your nominated email address to advise whether or not your grant has been successful, and request supporting documents. The latter process may take up to another month.
