Swing by your local Macca’s TODAY to share a smile and support families with children who are ill or injured

Today’s the day - McHappy Day is lighting up Australia with smiles, generosity, and community spirit, all in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

Head to your local Macca’s, where our crew will be ready and waiting with that special McHappy Day energy! It’s a celebration of community, connection, and raising vital funds that help RMHC support families with children who are ill or injured.

Here’s how Aussies can get involved today:

Buy a Big Mac, with a BIGGER purpose - $2 from every Big Mac sold (solo or in a meal) goes directly to RMHC. That’s a smile with every mouthful.

Step up for smiles – Pick up Silly Socks for $6.50 featuring iconic heritage characters, Grimace and Hamburglar.

Wear your heart on your head – Grab a Bucket Hat for $3.95, featuring the iconic McDonaldland characters, available in two      colours.

Lend a hand – Purchase Helping Hands for $2, $10 or $50. Colour it in and display it proudly in-restaurant or at home.

Click, tap, donate - Visit mchappyday.org.au/donate to make a quick contribution. The easiest way to spread smiles far and wide.

Amanda Nakad, Director of Marketing for McDonald’s Australia, said: “McHappy Day is always a highlight of the year for our crew and customers. It’s a day filled with joy, generosity and community spirit, for a cause that’s so close to our hearts.

“If you can, please pop down to your local Macca’s, grab a Big Mac with a BIGGER purpose, and enjoy the good vibes while doing some good.”

Barbara Ryan, Chief Executive Officer for Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone supporting McHappy Day this year. The generosity of Macca’s crew, customers and communities across Australia is truly inspiring.

“Every donation - big or small - helps us provide vital programs that support families with children who are ill or injured: keeping them close to hospital and creating moments of comfort and connection when they’re needed most.

“Today, every Big Mac, Silly Sock, Bucket Hat or Helping Hand purchased makes a real and lasting difference to families facing the toughest of journeys.”

Organised by McDonald’s Australia, McHappy Day is the largest annual fundraiser for RMHC. Since launching in 1991, McHappy Day has raised over $79 million for RMHC, helping support more than 69,000 families every year – but with thousands more families needing support each year, McHappy Day donations are more important than ever.

Supporting McHappy Day helps fund essential RMHC Programs like Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats, Hospitality Carts and the Learning Program – all designed to provide comfort, care and support to families, when and where they need it most.
