“Through partnering with Cricket NSW, we are able to offer two young cricket stars across New South Wales the opportunity to score $2,500 in funding and a money can’t buy experience.
“This is an incredible prize for a young aspiring athlete with big dreams and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it has on their future sporting career.”
Aanya Singh, winner of the Community Grants in 2023 said, "My love for cricket began during a snowstorm in the Snowy Mountains, where we were playing indoor cricket in the hall with a paper ball and a frying pan as a bat…fast forward 5 years, I aspire to represent Australia at an international level and inspire other young girls to pursue their dreams in the sport.
“Macca’s Community Grants have been incredibly beneficial in supporting my cricketing ambitions and my development as a player, helping me to purchase new cricket gear, attend specialised training camps and cover expenses for tournaments.”
If you’re ready to take your cricket to the next level, a parent or guardian can submit an application online outlining how the recipient embodies the values of commitment, team spirit, respect for others and support for their community – applications are open from now until 11:59 PM on Tuesday 14 January 2025 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time).
McDonald’s has been part of local communities across Australia for more than five decades, investing millions of dollars each year to support activities, events and groups that help Aussies lead active lifestyles, develop skills, care for the environment and support one another through times of crisis.
