23 September 2025
With 68% of Aussies believing sequels can be better, Macca’s is inviting the nation to give the new McCrispy a second shot
Macca’s is levelling up its chicken game. Say g’day to the new and improved McCrispy as well as the McCrispy Deluxe - crispier, crunchier, juicier, and ready to steal the spotlight.
Landing in restaurants from tomorrow, Wednesday 24 September, the new McCrispy is the ultimate burger upgrade. It’s the crunchiest, juiciest, most mouthwatering fried chicken burger we’ve ever served - designed to win over anyone who tastes it. Second chances never tasted so good.
With 68% of Aussies believing that sequels can outshine the original, Macca’s is inviting the nation to rediscover and convert to the McCrispy – which is McCrispy(er) and even better than the original.
The ultimate chicken glow-up
Aussies know what makes a great fried chicken burger – and the stats say it all: Nearly half (46%) crave that crispy crunch, close to a quarter (24%) love juicy chicken, and 8% are all about the perfect sauce pairing.
The new McCrispy delivers on every front: bite into the McCrispy(er) crunch of 100% Aussie, RSPCA Approved chicken breast fillet with a new crunchier coating, paired with crisp lettuce, a new creamy ranch sauce, and a new soft, pillowy toasted bun. It's a burger glow-up you won’t want to miss.
And for those after a little extra oomph, the McCrispy Deluxe adds ripe tomato and Aussie Jack cheese – perfect for those who love fresh toppings and anyone chasing the ultimate burger moment.
Aussies are ready to re-taste
Aussies are all about second chances - 98% say they’re open to giving things another go, and 89% say it’s usually worth it.
In fact, Aussies are more likely to give food and drink a second go (65%) than movies (49%), brands (55%), hobbies (45%), exes (31%), or even past jobs (13%). Tastebuds don’t lie – and the McCrispy is ready to win them over.
So, if you skipped or weren’t sold on the McCrispy the first time, now’s your moment to be converted.
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia said: “Aussies have always loved a good chicken burger, but the new McCrispy takes it to another level. We’ve dialled up the crunch, elevated the flavour, and created a burger that’s everything Aussies love - just even better.
“With McWings launched earlier this year, and now the McCrispy, we’re showing just how seriously we take chicken. Macca's is here to satisfy every craving - chicken included.”
From the McChicken and McSpicy, to Chicken McNuggets and Chicken McWings, Macca’s chicken menu has soared in popularity over the past few years. Now all the fan favourites are waiting at the Golden Arches - from iconic burgers and World-Famous Fries, to indulgent McFlurries and a growing chicken lineup that now features the new irresistible McCrispy.
Find the McCrispy and McCrispy Deluxe at your local Macca’s from Wednesday 24 September - available via drive-thru, front counter, kiosk, and the MyMacca’s app.
